Nasca to Arequipa

We had a leisurely start this morning.  Walked into town and bought some fruit at a street stall and changed some USD with a money changer.
Unbelievably, to us, there are guys standing on street corners, often outside ATMs, offering to exchange USD for Peruvian Sol at a much better rate than the  banks and with no fees like the banks charge.
We transferred to the bus station after lunch.  The bus arrived nearly an hour late.
The bus carries two drivers and they are only allowed to drive for four hours before swapping over.  The roads at night are exceptionally black.  No lighting. No centre line markings and no road side reflectors like we have.
We ran along the coast for 9 or 10 hours and then climbed up to Arequipa at 2400m for the last couple of hours.
The bus was supposed to arrive at Arequipa at midnight but we didn't get in until 2am.
Arequipa is Peru's second largest city with 2 million plus inhabitants.

We checked into our hotel and finally went to sleep around 3am.
