We woke at a reasonable hour. Had a leisurely breakfast at 9am and headed out to find some GeoCaches and an ATM.
Two First to Finds and an Earth Cache but no ATM for the morning.
We are in Miraflores which seems to be a fairly upmarket part of town. Probably due to its proximity to the coast (Costa Verde). The beaches aren't much. Gravel. But the surfers were all out in force with some lovely rollers coming in off the Pacific Ocean.
The promenade is at the top of 80m cliffs providing a magnificent view of the Bay.
Cloudy this morning but the weather did improve.
Now that some caching was done it was time to get some money.
Eventually we found an ATM in a petrol station.
Gave Lindsey's new One Card a whirl and it wouldn't recognise the pin. Ugh.
Off back to the hotel and the wifi to try and sort it out but no, the on line web page kept bouncing me when I tried to change the pin. Nothing left for it but to ring New Zealand. 12 minutes later the woman in the Phillipines assured us that it would now work. And she was right - phew.
After a cup o tea and a lie down it was time to head back to the ATMk. Wahoo. We now have some nice crisp Nueva Sol bank notes in our pockets.
GPS back on and it took us in a different direction.
We stumbled across an Organic produce market. Lots of really interesting and fresh looking produce. Some recognisable and some not. Bought an interesting looking cooked corn item with chicken in the middle for 3 Sol. Tasty and filling.
Lindsey wasn't hungry then but thirty minutes later she couldn't resist caramelised popcorn which she found at the same time as I was finding my next cache. It was yummy.
That's El Leo in the back ground near Kennedy Plaza.
Now off for some serious Caching. The first two were in restaurants! That way they don't get muggled and the restaurant might get some business. Not from us but we did check out their menus.
Now back on the Promenade to get five traditionals and on about the third one we muggled a woman from St Louis who was out to make a few finds like us. She'd left her muggle husband back at the hotel while she went out hunting. We joined up and had a nice chat while we found the rest of the caches.
This is their last day after "doing" Bolivia for a couple of weeks.
Now off for our meet and greet to start the tour.
